This is not a massage. This is life changing.

Vincent B. Martin, B.A.

Vincent grew up in Buffalo NY, then moved to the West Coast to attend Portland State University for Business and UCLA for Screenwriting. In 2009, compounding health problems involving gut issues and musculoskeletal pain brought on the need for major and long term remediation of diet and other factors. Seeking therapy for TMJ problems he discovered the term Rolfing. Bodywork proved to be invaluable for him during a year of pouring over medical literature in search of solutions to his maladies. His interest was sparked to learn more about the human body and manual therapy. Leaving his career in documentary film to go on a a learning and healing pilgrimage (ultimately a successful one) he began training at Dr. Ida Rolf Institute. Drawn to Hawaii’s therapeutic properties, he also trained as a massage therapist at the Pacific Center for Awareness and Bodywork on Kauai. Having discovered his passion for manual therapy but seeking additional mentors, he completed the Advanced Rolfing Certification at Dr. Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder in 2013, and Advanced Rolfing Certification at the Guild for Structural Integration on Kauai, HI in 2014. He was fortunate to train with many early students of Dr. Ida P Rolf through his travels and has filmed and catalogued many symposia and workshops for the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute. In 2017, with camera in tow, he travelled in Europe for 5 weeks to meet the farthest flung Rolfers and interview them. In 2019 he assisted a Phase III basic Rolfing training at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute.

Vincent chose to become a Rolfer because he believes in the unique effectiveness of the therapy to heal body and mind. He considers himself not a healer, but a healing guide, drawing on his depth and breadth of training and experience to help each client achieve their maximum potential. When he isn’t Rolfing or attending trainings, Vincent enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and photography. He resides in New York with his wife and little guy.
